The SolarMax 40

Coronado SolarMax 40 H-alpha Solar Telescope

The SolarMax 40 telescope offers capabiliity that goes beyond that of the Coronado PST, delivering higher-resolution images of solar activity in hydrogen-alpha light. The SolarMax 40 boasts a bandpass of &lt:0.7 Angstrom, greatly enhancing the resolution of subtle detail – both on the Sun’s disk itself and erupting from its limb!

The SolarMax 40 delivers amazingly sharp, clear images of solar prominences, flares, filaments, sunspots, plages, and surface granularity. With activity in daily flux – some even changing minute by minute – you will never tire of peering into the SolarMax 40 for a live, crisp view, and doing so is completely safe because the internal BF10 blocking filter rejects all unwanted and harmful radiation. You can even snap striking through-the-scope Sun shots with your digital camera!

The SolarMax 40 has a 400mm focal length (f/10) and accepts 1.25″ eyepieces (sold separately). It weighs only 3 lbs., so a small telescope mount will provide ample support. Included are a clamshell tube ring and hard travel case.
